Jamestown was the site of the first permanent English settlement in the New World, Yorktown is where our nation's freedom was won when Washington defeated Cornwallis in the American Revolution and Williamsburg was the political and economic center of the Virginia Colony. Today this historic site has been restored to that of yesteryear. Not only is it filled with restored buildings, museums, and artifacts, but it is also a community where craftspeople practice their trades and merchants sell their wares at over 150 stores and factories. After your history lesson you may want to visit some of the modern-day attractions such as Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Water Country USA, or play a round or two of golf at one of their top quality golf courses.
